Records Division is responsible for maintaining all reports of crimes, arrest reports and accident reports. They follow Florida Statute 119.
Records employees also make these reports available to the public.
All original reports are carefully stored and eventually scanned after several years. Records clerks also enter data from the reports and citation in the department's computer system for tracking and for statistical purposes.

How to Obtain Police Records
The Records Unit provides copies of police reports in accordance with the Florida public records statutes and related laws and rules governing the dissemination of public records. Copies are usually provided within one day of receipt of the request. Large requests and/or archive retrieval may require additional processing time. Copying charges are assessed at the current statutory limits. Additional charges levied for non-routine or in-depth research as requested.
Judicial dispositions of police reports may be obtained from the Gadsden County Clerk of Court or from the State Attorney, Second Judicial Circuit.
The Records Unit also processes records checks, and data concerning police calls for service within the Quincy city limits.
