Personnel & Training

The Quincy Police Department’s training unit is set up to serve the training needs of the agency by providing legally defensible and ethical training to its officers. Offering a wide range of training topics, we use online and classroom instruction methods to reach all employees. The training unit is responsible for providing up to date information on the primary topics in law enforcement. The training section is staffed by agency experts that coordinate firearms, defensive tactics, use of force, emergency vehicle operations and all required/advanced general police topics.  We routinely invite surrounding agencies to train with us which assists us with strengthening professional ties with our fellow Gadsden County agencies.

The training unit also serves as the background investigation unit for new applicants. We accept applications year round. Selection of well qualified applicants and the retention of well qualified police and communication officers is the goal of the unit. If you wish more information on how to apply for a police officer or non-sworn position, please call (850) 627-7111 and ask for Lt. Monroe. You can also email him at
